-
What should I bring to my session? We've got you covered with towels, a robe (for transitions between the sauna and cold plunge), and a water bottle refill station. Water is also available for purchase. For the sauna, we recommend loose clothing that is easy to put on after a sweat. For the cold plunge, a swimsuit or similar attire is required.

-
Do you provide water? We have a water fill station available to all guests, as well as bottled water available for purchase.

What is contrast therapy?Contrast therapy, also known as hot and cold therapy, is a wellness practice that alternates between heat and cold treatments to enhance recovery and improve overall health. Typically, it involves moving between a heated environment, like a sauna, and a cold plunge or ice bath. The heat relaxes muscles, improves circulation, and promotes detoxification, while the cold reduces inflammation, eases muscle soreness, and boosts recovery. By switching between hot and cold, contrast therapy stimulates blood flow, supports the lymphatic system, and provides both physical and mental rejuvenation.
-
How long is each session? An infrared sauna session lasts 30 minutes, and a cold plunge session is scheduled for 15 minutes. For the cold plunge, we recommend staying in for 3 to 5 minutes. If you’re new to cold plunging, start with just 30 seconds and gradually work your way up to 3 minutes with regular practice. If you’re doing a contrast therapy session, which includes a full sauna and cold plunge session, the total time will be 45 minutes.
-
Is it okay if I'm running late?No worries! However, arriving late may reduce your session time, so we recommend arriving a few minutes early to ensure you enjoy the full experience.
-
What is your cancellation policy? We totally get it—life happens! But to keep things running smoothly for everyone at Sauna and Plunge, here’s how cancellations work: Cancel more than 12 hours before your session: No problem! Reschedule for free, either via the app or by contacting us. Cancel within 12 hours or no-show: Members lose one monthly credit; package holders incur a $25 fee. Thanks for your understanding—we’re committed to providing the best experience for everyone!
-
What is an infrared sauna bed?An infrared sauna bed is a single-person unit that uses infrared light to deliver heat directly to your body, rather than heating the air around you. Unlike traditional saunas, this allows for a more comfortable experience while still providing powerful benefits such as stress relief, improved circulation, immune system support, calorie burning, and natural detoxification. The bed design allows you to lie down and relax, making it an ideal way to experience the therapeutic effects of infrared heat.
-
What temperature is the sauna? We can customize the temperature to suit your preference, but we recommend starting at a lower setting if you're new to infrared therapy. Gradually increasing the heat over time allows your body to adjust and ensures a more comfortable experience.
-
How often should I use the sauna bed?Everyone is different. We recommend 2-3 sessions per week to maximize benefits.
-
Do the infrared sauna beds emit EMF?Yes. SoloCarbon panels are 100% quality controlled to ensure the safety and effectiveness of each individual heater. The infrared sauna beds used at Sauna and Plunge have a proprietary heater design that virtually eliminates EMF (an average of less than 3mg) and steel conduit electrical shielding making your sauna as safe as possible
-
Should I take a shower after I sweat in the sauna? We recommend showering 20-30 minutes after your session, as your body may continue to sweat once you exit the sauna. A shower helps cleanse your pores and remove the toxins released during your session. For an added wellness boost, we also suggest using our Cold Plunge tub after the sauna to experience the powerful effects of contrast therapy.
-
What do you clean the sauna beds with?We use a non toxic cleaner between sessions and we also replace all towels so you don't come into contact with anyone else's sweat.
-
What is a cold plunge?A cold plunge is a form of cold water immersion therapy where you submerge your body in cold water, typically between 50-59°F (10-15°C), for a short period of time. This practice helps reduce inflammation, improve circulation, boost recovery after exercise, and invigorate the body and mind. Cold plunges are often used to complement heat therapies, like saunas, to create contrast therapy, which alternates between hot and cold treatments to maximize health benefits.
-
What temperature is the cold plunge set to?The cold plunge is set to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
IMPORTANT NOTICEIT IS IMPORTANT TO CONSULT WITH A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL BEFORE TRYING AN INFRARED SAUNA BED OR ATTEMPTING A COLD PLUNGE. WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS.
-
Is it safe to use the facilities while pregnant?According to the Organization of Teratology Information Services (OTIS), a body temperature of 101 F and above can raise concerns during pregnancy. The association recommends that you avoid the use of saunas during pregnancy to ensure you do not get overheated. Always consult your doctor or health care provider before attempting a cold plunge.
-
Can I use the infrared sauna bed if I have a medical condition, recently had surgery, or if I'm injured? If you have a chronic health condition that makes you sensitive to temperature changes, we strongly recommend consulting your doctor before booking a session. This is also essential if you've recently had an injury or surgery. If you are taking medications, especially blood thinners, please consult your doctor beforehand. If you've been advised to avoid heat or have any medical concerns, it’s best to speak with your physician first. Additionally, if you've undergone abdominal surgery, such as a tummy tuck, c-section, or breast augmentation, please check with your doctor to ensure it’s safe to use an infrared sauna. Keep in mind, we are not medical professionals, and your doctor’s advice is crucial.
-
Is it safe to use the sauna bed or cold plunge with a pacemaker? No, it’s not recommended to use a sauna or cold plunge if you have a pacemaker without first consulting your doctor. While the heat from the sauna may not directly affect the pacemaker, the rapid temperature shifts and potential strain on your heart from alternating between a sauna and cold plunge can pose risks. It's essential to seek medical guidance before attempting either therapy.
-
What if I feel dizzy or unwell during a session? If you feel dizzy or unwell during a sauna session, stop immediately and sit or lie down. It's important to inform a staff member right away so we can assist you. Do not leave the studio until you feel better, and we’ll ensure you're comfortable and safe before resuming any activities.
